Six extraordinary evenings, one historic train station
The dark nights are back — and they brought friends. For years, the Depot's beloved Intermezzo series turned the quiet nights between productions into some of the most talked-about evenings of the summer. In 2026 the tradition returns reimagined as the Dark Night Series: six extraordinary performances, six unforgettable evenings — with more to come this winter. Some things are too good to leave dark.

Songs of Dish-Racks and Desire
with Michael Hicks
A Depot alum returns home. Michael Hicks first fell for this theater in 2005 during Show Boat, and later played a solo concert in the original Intermezzo Series — now he's back as a singer-songwriter. Accompanying himself on piano, guitar, and accordion (not simultaneously), he sings about dish racks, churches, and everything in between: an evening of laughs with the occasional tear. He's been called "a bit Noël Coward mixed with a bit Jerry Lee Lewis" — a compliment he accepts graciously.
