Whallonsburg, N.Y. – Tickets are now available for the Depot’s BRTF Youth Theatre 2019 performances of LION KING JR. and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS.

Each summer, the program features both junior (ages 8-12) and senior (ages 12 and up) programs that culminate in theatrical performances held at the Whallonsburg Grange Hall.

This year’s Junior production is LION KING JR., with performances on August 2 and 3 at 7 p.m. and August 4 at 2 p.m.

Performances for the Senior production of LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will be held on August 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., and August 11 at 2 p.m.

Seating is limited, and all tickets will be sold in advance in order to avoid surpassing the seating capacity of the facility. (No tickets will be sold at the door). Tickets are available online via the tickets link on depottheatre.org, or by calling the box office at 518.962.4449.

In 2018, The Depot Theatre took on the BRTF program with the intention of featuring it as their signature education and outreach program. 2019 represents a transition year for the program, with the addition of enhancements that include live musical accompaniment, and the infusion of professional training with workshops by theatre professionals providing specialized instruction in singing, dancing and acting.

“There’s a great energy in rehearsals this year,” said Diana McGuigan George, BRTF Coordinator/Director. “Jackie Robertin’s choreography, special professional workshops, and the addition of live music accompaniment and direction by Adam Tilford has had a tremendous impact on the quality of the rehearsal process, and will certainly be reflected in their performances!”

Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, (this includes the $2 facility and education fee per ticket), and are available online at depottheatre.org, or by calling the box office at 518.962.4449.
