The Depot Stories

The Depot Stories, by G.G. Davis, Jr.

What's Your Depot Story?

The Depot Theatre has been sharing stories for 33 years. Now it’s your turn.

My name is George Davis, and I'm an unabashed Depot groupie. On Wednesday, August 29 at 8:00 PM I will present The Depot Stories, a Tonight Only evening of oral and digital storytelling about The Depot Theatre. I will showcase stories from Depot performers, audience members, staff and even Mo, the Depot Theatre cat (if I can find a suitable interpreter).

Do you have a fun, quirky, nostalgic, spooky Depot memory? This is your chance to share it with the rest of the Depot family!

Share Your Depot Story

If your mind summons up a pipe smoking, patchwork quilt wrapped storyteller blowing the dust off a few old yarns, welcome. Tell us a tale that will remind us why oral storytelling is still alive and well. Just skip the pipe.

But stories can be told so many ways. Video. Poetry. Audio recordings. Mime. Slide shows. Digital collages. Even interprative dance... (Rumor has it that new Managing Director Angel Wuellner is singularly gifted in this regard!)

Dip into your Depot Theatre subconscious and ladle out your favorite memory. Or three. And email it/them to me soon with your name and preferred contact information. I will follow up with you directly so that we can explore the best way of telling and sharing your story. Although I will not be able to include all stories on August 29, I will select those that are most suitable for the evening and we will include others on the website.

Good luck! I'm looking forward to your story.
