Seeking: SHERLOCK’S LAST CASE Dr. Watson: 50’s male. Somewhat bumbling, mannered and helpful (think Nigel Bruce). Sherlock Holmes: 40’s male. Acetic, precise, extremely analytical with a self confidence that often seems arrogant (think Basil Rathbone). The actor portraying Holmes will also portray the “Holmes look-alike” noted in the cast of characters. Mrs. Hudson: 50’s Scots female. Devoted yet put-upon housekeeper with a tendency towards emotion and a delight in high drama. Liza Moriarty: 20’s female. Attractive and beguiling (alleged) daughter of Holmes’ nemesis, professor Moriarty. Liza is in actuality a professional actress who, in this play, also portrays Damion: 20’s male. Sly, suburban and vengeful alleged son of Professor Moriarty. Inspector Lestrade: 50’s male. Dutiful if relatively unimaginative Scotland Yard detective with a working class background--a foil for Holmes’ crime-solving brilliance.
FIVE GUYS NAMED MOE The show is a musical revue using the hit songs of Louis Jordan, the great 1930s composer and saxophonist who brought a popular new slant to jazz that paved the way for the rock-and-roll of the 1950s. Roles for six African American Men; the cast is energetic, charismatic, interacts with the audience and moves well. Big Moe a tall Moe, he's authoritative Eat Moe a hungry Moe, he's usually cast as a merry, overweight guy Four-Eyed Moethe bespectacled, clear-sighted "leader" to the group, irreverent and magnetic Little Moe a little Moe who likes his chicks large; tenor (up to B-flat) No Moe a straight-laced Moe Nomax,gloomy young man who "ain't got nothing but the blues"

Adult Bo Groden: 35 female. Reflective. . Accomplished. Has a sense of humor and a love of language. Bank Manager Young Bo Groden: 11 female. Bright, Precocious, Kind-hearted. An avid writer. Bo lives with her mother and father off the land in the wilds of New Mexico and yearns for a “normal life”. Charley Groden: mid 40’s, male. Normally energetic, resourceful and able to support his family by fixing and re-selling abandoned “treasures” from the local dump. However, he is currently suffering from a deep depression (inclined to be more manic). Arlene Groden: early 40’s female. Earthy. Generous. Compassionate. Married to Charley and mother of Bo, her fortitude and compassion hold the family together. George: mid 40’s, male. A man of few words and a deep, methodical thinker often mistaken for being “none too swift”. Loyal family friend and godfather to Bo. William Gibbs: 28, male. An IRS Agent seeking the Grodens for payment of back taxes. William is an urban pencil pusher who becomes transformed through his contact with the Grodens.

ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION Aldo Salicki: 30’s male. An intense Italian guy who has lived his entire life in Little Italy, NYC. Huey Maximilian Bonfigliano: 30’s male. Aldo’s best friend since childhood, divorced, depressed and vulnerable. Aunt May: middle-age female. A handsome Italian widow. Opinionated woman who enjoys a “bit” of gossip. Teresa: late 20’s female. Striking Italian girl frustrated by her relationship with a distracted Huey. “Beautiful Italian girl with a steady job seeks fully committed partner interested in matrimony”. Janice: 30’s female. Huey’s ex-wife. Angular, patrician Italian woman with austere good looks and a volatile temper.

Staff Bios
Shami J. McCormick (Artistic Director) - Shami has been the Artistic Director of the Depot Theatre since 1980 and is a member of Actors' Equity Association and the American Federation of Television and Radio Actors. As a professional actress, Shami trained at both the National Theatre Institute and the Hartman Theatre Conservatory after completing her undergraduate degree at Kenyon College (where she majored in Religion and where she later received an Honorary Doctorate in Theatre). She has appeared in a variety of plays including A Midsummer Night's Dream, Waiting For Godot, Three Sisters and La Ronde as well as in musicals such as Tom Jones and Olympian Games. Since settling in Westport, Shami has performed in several productions at the Depot Theatre, most notably in The Lion in Winter, Absurd Person Singular, Harvey, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Arsenic and Old Lace and Collected Stories. Her directing credits include productions of Damn Yankees, Guys and Dolls, Our Town, Down in the Valley, On the Town and several children's theatre shows. Shami began her Adirondack theatre-producing career with the North Country Theatre Company in 1978. In addition, she has been an adjunct instructor of Theatre at SUNY Plattsburgh and a past director of the Adirondack Center Museum where she also served as Essex County Historian. Shami has served as a NYSCA grant panelist for the Theatre, Individual Artists and Capital Aid Programs as well as a Panelist for the Vermont Council for the Arts, the Arts Council for the Northern Adirondacks and the New York State Alliance for Arts Education. Shami is very proud of all that the Depot Theatre has accomplished and grateful to founder Carol Buchanan, the Theatre's first Artistic Director, Jennifer Jones Cavenaugh, and the many artists and patrons who have helped make it an exciting place to experience live theatre. Shami is a full-time resident of Westport, NY where she lives with her husband, three sons and father.
Chris Casquilho (Managing Director) - hails from the Big Sky state of Montana, where he cut his teeth working with the Missoula Children's Theatre as an instructor and custodian. He performed over the years in Montana with the Fort Missoula Theatre Company, the Illustrious Virginia City Players, and the Firehouse 5 Playhouse. Chris has worked Off-Broadway as a carpenter, electrician, technical director, and production manager, as well as serving a turn as the technical director at SUNY Potsdam in 2003. He helped launch a new performing space and shop for the Civic Theatre of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and co-founded the Fantod Theatre company in Chicago in 1998 - dedicated to developing and premiering new works by Chicago playwrights. Before coming to work at the Depot, he served as the Director of Development and, later, as the Executive Director for the Firehouse 5 Playhouse in Livingston, Montana - just north of Yellowstone National Park.
Lori Abel (Office Manager) - Lori has a degree in Environmental Science, and does her best to keep the office environment friendly and efficient. Lori is a resident of Peru, New York, where she raises her two children in harmony with nature.
