What a difference a week makes!

Since my last blog post we've seen the arrival of our Technical Director, the Stage Manager of CARELESS LOVE, and our Box Office Manager. Shami and our tireless volunteers have been working non-stop to prepare the housing for our incredible casts & crews. Set designs, rehearsal schedules, and brochures have been created and distributed. More subscriptions and single show tickets are being purchased every day. Actors start arriving tomorrow. The reason why we work so hard is finally coming to the forefront and, man, it is exciting!

Out and about in town, I've been having lots of conversations about the Depot Theatre. One of the reasons why I (& I think most  people) love theatre is the personal connection the audience gets to have with the actors. As an audience member at a live theatrical performance, you are a part of the performance. The actors are acting and reacting to what they feel from the audience as much as the audience is responding to what is on stage. It's why people still choose the theatre. Anything can happen. And at the Depot Theatre, that "anything" can range from something out of the ordinary taking place on stage, to a train passing by, to Mo, the station cat, deciding to join a scene. When you join us at the Depot Theatre, you are truly seeing something special, something that no one else will ever see exactly the way you saw it. As an audience member (which I look forward to being for our shows all summer!), your presence and participation is required for each and every performance to be a success.

CARELESS LOVE gets us started with Opening Night on Friday, June 22! You can purchase tickets online, in person, or by calling our box office at 962-4449. This one's going to be really special - and when it goes on to a great big life after the Depot Theatre, you will get to say that you saw its WORLD PREMIERE!

Just a reminder that Bingo for the Depot is back on Saturday, June 16, 5-7pm at the Westport Heritage House. I cannot stress enough just how much fun these Bingos are. Plus, you might win money and/or fabulous prizes! It's like "Let's Make A Deal" only without funny costumes.

Don't forget that you can always follow our going-ons on Facebook and on Twitter. And we can follow your's on Foursquare!

See y'all soon!
